JIEO uses controlled multi-pass swaging to reduce a Ø10 mm tubular heating element to a finished diameter of Ø6 mm—a 40% reduction. This process uniformly compacts the magnesium oxide around the resistance coil, improving thermal conductivity and dielectric strength. This ensures faster heating, more even heating, reliable electrical insulation, and a longer heater service life.

Each heater is swaged to a precise, straight final diameter for a close fit in your mold’s mounting holes. The tighter fit minimises the air gap between the heater sheath and the mold, allowing heat to transfer more efficiently into your equipment. The heater can be installed more easily, heat up faster, provide more accurate temperature control, and reduce the risk of internal overheating.

High-Density Cartridge Heaters with Configurable Wattage Distribution

JIEO offers five heat-distribution designs for high-density cartridge heaters to match how heat is absorbed and lost along the heater. Standard uniform wattage provides consistent output per unit length for parts with relatively even heat demand. End-compensated distributed wattage concentrates more output at both ends to offset faster edge heat loss and improve workpiece temperature uniformity.

Custom distributed wattage divides the heated length into predetermined high-, medium-, and low-wattage sections to match variations in part thickness and local thermal load. Custom no-heat sections omit active winding at specified positions to align with holes, slots, seals, sensors, or other areas where direct heating is unnecessary.

An extended cold section increases the unheated length at the lead end, reducing the thermal load on the lead connection, end seal, and nearby heat-sensitive components. These heat-distribution options provide a suitable temperature profile and stable heater performance to match your operating equipment.

Not necessarily. High-density describes the swaged construction, which compacts the MgO insulation and shortens the heat-transfer path. High-watt-density describes the power applied per unit of heated surface area. One refers to construction; the other refers to surface power loading.

Use a straight, clean bore with a single-side clearance of no more than 0.05 mm, equivalent to a total diametrical clearance of 0.10 mm. Excessive clearance reduces heat transfer and increases the heater’s operating temperature.

Common causes of premature failure include excessive bore clearance, exposed operation, incorrect voltage, moisture, loose electrical connections, repeated lead bending, and excessive heat around the lead end. Correct installation and temperature control help extend service life.
